I'm brand new to the forum. I am seeing references to differnt types of engines in their Vibes. The GM Vehicle Information System shows for my Vibe the following engine: LV6 - 1.8L 4 CYL VVT-I GAS ENGINE Why isn't the engine referenced by RPO 'LV6' in the forum?
Welcome to the forum! Be sure to post pictures, we love to see the Vibes! We don't call it LV6 because 1.8 is much simpler and most people don't know the option is LV6 (I'd assume). Basically, it breaks down like this:03-08 base Vibes have the 130hp 1.8 1ZZ-FE VVT-I engine 03-06 AWD Vibes have the 120hp 1.8 1ZZ-FE VVT-I engine03-06 GT Vibes have the 170hp 1.8 2ZZ-GE VVTL-I engine (L for lift)09-10 Vibes have either the 130hp 1.8 2ZR-FE VVT-I OR the 160hp 2.4 2AZ-FE VVT-IVVT-I = Variable Valve Timing with IntelligenceHorsepower numbers are (I assume) brake horsepower, or flywheel horsepower. Wheel horsepower WILL be lower. That's probably more than you need to know (or some of what you already know) but hey, why not get it all written out like this?
That would be the 1ZZ. GM RPO's aren't very often referenced here because of the simple fact that most everything in the car is Toyota made! And if you hunt around between the various Toyota and GM dealers you'll find that most parts are cheaper at Toyota!
