random hidden electrical sockets

On the left hand side of the steering wheel under the mirror adjustment buttons there's 4 rectangular plastic covers. I pulled them off the other day and saw that there's an electrical adaptor for something in there. I also found one in the rear area behind the right side panel between the sub and tail lamps. Anyone know what those are for?also, has anyone installed another 12v outlet in the rear area? I've been thinking it'd be a good idea to have one back there if it's simple enough to do.edit: I have a 2006 standard transmission moon and tunes if any of that matters

that area behind the clips is the relay/fuse box.
