Can Ford and Toyota overcome their obvious differences and succeed where GM and Toyota (NUMMI) failed? The agreement is apparently a direct result of the recent "54.5mpg Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) by 2025" standard.Link:

I predict that you'll be paying a hell-of-a-lot of $$$ soon for vehicles. Option this, add on that, tax, levy, fee, disposal charge, markup, paperwork filing payment... and I don't even want to know how much a simple repair on some of these vehicles will be... I wonder how long it will be before they make repairing your own vehicle (or even opening the hood) illegal for fears you'll tamper with the fuel economy settings to get more power... GM has such a hard time moving those hybrid pickups and SUV's because THEY COST A FORTUNE that us mere mortals just won't pay and the rich can afford but don't want the hassle!I'll leave my comments there... and try to keep this thread out of the asylum.
