Hey everyone,I am a long time troll on this forum and have found alot of answers for the problems with my car.I have a 2007 Vibe AT,after the recall of the ECU I have found that the acceleration form 0 to 60 km has been faster however when going from 80km to 120km or above the car seems a bit sluggish as if its slow in gearing up.Additionally the car is louder when idling. Is this as a result of the PCM change, I am a bit baffled at this and hope some one can help me.Thanks

How long ago did was it replaced? If recently, the PCM (or ECU) may take time to "learn" your engine and driving habits. If it doesn't improve after 300 miles (500km) you may want to have them take a look at it.Goodluck!

This problem only started with the change of the PCM chip.Prior to that the car was ok.

Well I'm not really sure what to say. Is your fuel mileage the same? That should be a could indication on how the car is performing.

I have not seen any changes in the mpg of the car.I just came back from the dealer and one of the mechanics took a look at the car and said eveerything is ok since the check engine light is not on.Additionally he said that the change in the PCM may have added abt 10Hp to my car and also the slow acceleration may be attributed to the changing in the gear selection. However when he drove my car he was pushing it to more than 5K RPMs to get it accelerating and he says that is normal. If i have to push the engine to such a high RPM does that not reduce my life expectancy, its not like if we have a Wrankle.

I'm not sure what to say. Your symptoms are subjective without any hard evidence before and after. Start looking at the basics Air Filter, Spark Plug condition and fuel.

I had my recall done just last week and immediately took off to New England. Absolutely no running differences in the car. Good MPG and good acceleration (such as these cars can do).Is there a wire off somewhere? Dave

I thought of that but would think it would show a code. I'd male sure the connections on the PCM are "clicked" in. You know how to check that?

I think I fixed the problem,I disconnected the battery so as to reset the onboard computer.Acceleration is no longer sluggish.I hope it lasts

Glad to hear it! Maybe you had some "crap" in the PCM that caused an issue and resetting cleared it, not unheard of. I would sill check the connections on the PCM and make sure they are snug. Goodluck!
