Dent in bumper cover

The wife backed into another car in the parking lot leaving a grapfruit size dent in the corner of the plastic bumper cover on our '06 Vibe. I can't see where any metal is involved. I think this will press back into shape with a little help softening it with a hair dryer. I plan to take the bumper cover off and press the dent out from the inside. So does anyone have any special advice about getting the cover off? It looks straightforward in the book but it never hurts to ask the experience base.

Particularly the plug type fasteners- is there a simple way to get these off or must one use a special tool? I guess prying them out and breaking them I can get new fasteners to put back on but I hate to do things the rough way when there is a better alternative.

I would check out Sherman's and see how much a new cover is

Sometime in the past day or so someone must have opened a car door into the top of my metal right front tire surround. White paint and a dent. I will just live with it.

As I was afraid of it was not as easy as it looked in the book. There are some (4?) hidden clips not shown in the Haynes manual. I couldn't get them loose prying as hard as I dared without messing up so I worked around it.The bumper cover was loose enough on the end from taking out the plastic pug rivits shown in four places and one screw shown in manual that I was able to get in a broom handle with cloth covering the end to spread out the force softly. Then I used a heat gun to warm up the dented area. Walla- The bump popped out pretty good. Well one would never notice without very close examination. There are some minute wrinkles left around the edge of where the dent was. The wife thought I had done magic or something. She's happy so I'm happy.
