I am wondering what people have done and what options are out there. We are gonna do this on '09 Vibe.

Take it north, sell it and buy one with an AC installed already! That will be be tough job. I assume you have a 2ZR engine so I'm not sure if any of the 2.4L parts would work or if any of then 1st gen parts would work also. Goodluck with this project!

I worked for foreign car manufacturers for many years back in the 70's. NO car came with factory AC. They were all installed by the dealers or at the docks. I'm talking, BMW, Mercedes Benz etc.I've done them, it a heck of a lot of work!!!Listen to the previous advice already given..... trade up.It can be done, it's a heck of a lot of work.Dave

Of the 57,088 2009 Vibes built, 55,358 had factory air. My father-in-law bought a Ford Granada in the late 70's as I remember. It did not have a/c. I think the dealer made a mistake when ordering it as it was otherwise well equipped. The salesman told me he didn't think they would ever be able to sell that car but my father in law was very thin and cold blooded - heat didn't bother him.

If you wanted to install AC, just go to the wreckers and take all the system components out of a wrecked Vibe. Parts from a Corolla/Matrix/XD might have minor diffrences. And it might be rare, but most people would consider us to be still living in the stone-age being without AC!!!

I've called around about AC and I figured the only option would be to just sell it up north. But I guess I'll hang on to it for a while and leave it alone. There is nothing nearly as good out there for that price.

How many 2010's built with no AC?I don't know if those numbers are just for production for the U.S. market or total. I suspect it is just production of U.S. models as Canadian models would have different standard equipment etc.Run your vin at http://www.compnine.com/vid.php?vinand see what you find.
