A new O'Reilly auto parts is about to open close to my home. I've never shopped there, as this will be the first in my area. How do you guys like them?

IMO, AutoZone, O'Reilly, Parts+, CarQuest, etc. the parts are extremely similar. It's the staff of the store that makes it good.

Like Raffe said though, the ppl will make the store.

I've been going to the O'Reilly's in the next town since it opened. It's pretty rural here and so the local guys are small and usually have to order stuff out, whereas O usually has stuff in stock. Our store has very knowledgeable employees who are friendly and do everything they can to help you.

of the chains, i prefer advance, and think o'rilley and autozone are perfectly fine. i have all 3 within a 10 minute drive, so i watch for deals at any of the 3-it's usually worth my time. 1 thing i prefer about o'rilley's is that they carry Wix filters (oil, air and cabin air) and had all 3 in stock the last time i went. imo there isn't a huge difference in the quality of the limited selection of name brand filters available for my '10 1.8l, but i prefer Wix.

I don't buy many "auto parts". A new O'Reilly's opened close to me - their sale prices seem to be very good but I have never been in there. So many auto parts stores within a few miles here (plus Walmart etc.) that I do not know how they all stay in business.

I prefer Advance auto only because they are one of the few places you can still buy wiper blade refills.

Prefer AAP (Advanced Auto Parts)

I like oreilly's. There's one near my mom's place and I've been getting stuf from there for a couple years now. theyve got what I need and the staff is pretty cool.

Or I always check with Auto Zone or just browse online for the cheapest auto parts available to save more cash. But one reason that I always go back to store or shop, a good working staff who would appreciate real business.

Even if there are competitors right across the street. Heck, Home Depot and Lowe's have been doing that for years. Even Walgreens and CVS.And with people buying up a lot of used cars instead of new, they are still able to do basic maintenance and part-swapping. Each model year that rolls out makes it harder and harder to be handy.

FWIW -- O'Rielly's used to be Checker Auto Supply...apparently they got bought-out.

They never have anything. Ever. There 2 of them in town here.But again, who EVER has anything for my Vibe? NOBODY!

They were Kragen in Calif.Have good deals on oil/filter combos.Good loaner tool selection.Quality of Autozone Duralast vs. O'Reilly parts???
