8-12-11 ReleaseHonda Motor Company Ltd. employees in Marysville,OH and wannabe workers in Mexico got some good news Friday.The Japanese automaker said its Marysville plant will have a second shift reinstated to one of its lines by the end of the year, bringing it to full two-shift production for the first time since January 2009.The company also said its Honda de Mexico SA de CV subsidiary will open an $800 million, 3,200-worker plant in three years near Celaya, Guanajuato, and turn out fuel-efficient subcompact vehicles.Adding in the plant’s annual capacity of 200,000, North American production capacity in 2014 is expected to grow 12 percent to 1.83 million from 1.63 million. The southeast Mexico plant, situated about 200 miles east of two existing Honda operations, will be Honda’s eighth in North America.
