Infant Seat?

So the baby is due in just over a month and people are starting to send us stuff. My aunt and uncle bought us the infant seat early so we wouldnt need to worry about it. Well, we test fit it in the Vibe today and it didn't seem to fit in the rear facing position. Am I missing something or do I need to get a smaller seat fo actually sit in the vibe? I just cant see how I will get the incline I am supposed to. My wife is going to try taking it with the car to the fire department tomorrow and make sure we are doing it right. But the instructions suck and I need an idea of what to do next...

The first car seats are a little big and it can be a tight fit. You might have to move the front seats up a little bit. BTW, the center of the rear seat is safer.

We have it in the center, and both seats are moved somewhat forward. Ill try getting a pic tomorrow. Who knew this stuff is so hard to buy....

This isnt bad for driving but they say the seat needs to be more inclined by putting something under the base Here I moved the driver seat forward, and dropped the passenger side down. Its still not to the position stated in the instructions but its close... We are waiting for the safety guy in our town to call us back to look at it.

That's not the right chair for a newborn.

I was expecting a carrier and base combo. Know for a fact that fits well in the vibe.

Yeah that part fits no problem. Tried that one already. My aunt and uncle got the infant seat (next one up) so we have it now ahead of time. We already have the baby carrier and 2 bases. Sorry for the confusion.
