Windshield Eyebrow

Has anyone done a window tint eyebrow across the top of your windshield?I did 5% tint on all the back windows and 50% on the front doors. I was going to do a strip of 35% across the top of the windshield to cut down on the light coming in the front to the cabin so I can see out the rearview a little easer on those nice sunny days. The guy that did my tint said that it wouldn't look good around the rearview mirror because of the dot matrix. I'm wondering if I should do it anyway...

that seems to be the standard practice, yes. IMO its not a good look to begin with, but if you think it will help you see better then thats all that should matter. PS - last time around getting the vibe tinted i decided to go 30 on the front doors and 50 on the entire windshield. you can see the result in my profile

If the shop doesn't think they can do it, find someone who can. Mine was done great, and is still looking great. Even through all of these freakin' heat! It cost me $15.00.

Anything less than that will be a waste as far as blocking any light.Quote, originally posted by 09vGT »If the shop doesn't think they can do it, find someone who can. The dot matrix (vibe ) just adds a level of difficulty, but if done right can look good.I got a 5% strip on my Vibe last summer. They charged me $55.00 for it and it looked like crap. I ended up peeling it off the next day .I wish the Vibes didn't have the dot matrix crap around the rear view mirrors. It would make life so much easier and tint strips would look so much better.

I will probably have him do it then take a hair dryer to it to get it lay down better. My guy was saying that there would be white rings around all the dots and so not look too good. I'll bet that is what rAERRK was talking about when he ripped his off.

During the daytime the sun can high in the windshield, without the dot matrix you wouldn't be able to see through the rearview at all. If you have dark tinted back windows you need to cut down even more light form the windshield so you can see

Jorge, that thought has crossed my mind a number of times aswell. It's a good thing it took me this long to make up my mind. I just took a road stone and the spider crack was all the way across the windshield by the next afternoon. Time for a new one
