My $550 earnings gets topped up to $2,000 if I buy a new GM vehicle by 9-6-11. Includes Chevy HHR, Cruize, Equinox, GMC Terrain among other models. Can add to generally available rebates or special financing offers.

tempted? I'd consider an Equinox (and much more seriously if it had a stick) I guess.

I got that same offer also. Not in the market for any newer cars for QUITE SOME TIME! Very happy with the Pontiacs we have.

Not even tempted at this time.Too bad it isn't transferable to family members (other than those who live with you). My son is looking for a new car and this might have tipped the scales to an Equinox or Terrain. This in spite of the fact that his 1996 Blazer and his Impala (2002 I think) were both problematic. My neighbor (senior like me) bought an Equinox several month's ago when they were hard to get (so he paid full msrp) and is very happy with it.

Does it say anywhere that you can't use the credit for yourself, and then sell the vehicle to your family member for the exact price you paid for it?

You can apply the savings to anyone's loan as long as you are a cosigner.

Son is a cash buyer but could take out the loan, and then pay it off in a month suppose. I don't have any problem co-signing - he could buy and sell me 3 times. One other way might work - take title in both our names. So I called GM - to be on the loan you have to be on the title. So you don't have to bother with the loan, just have to have it titled to both of us. At some point in time I could transfer the title to him - and it would truly be for no consideration therefore no sales tax as he would have paid for the car.Twice in my life I bought cars and got the recent graduate rebate by placing one of my children on the title. Thanks to your input I was able to think outside the box and find a way. The next step is if he wants to take another chance on a GM Vehicle.

Here in Taxifornia, even they don't require sales tax for car title transfers between parent and child. I bought a car from my parents 4 yrs ago, and just this month we transferred title on Vibe No 1 to my oldest son. No sales tax due on either transfer.
