So the wife got me some Kicker KS component speakers to replae the fronts in the vibe. Where is the crossover to replace those with the kickers as well? Also, with these I am pretty sure Ill need to use the stock rings so I don't lose the depth. I want to make sure everything works correctly before cutting out the old speaker cones. Any tips? I used to be good with audio but I haven't done it in a long time. Any help for the vibe would br great. For now I will probibly use the stock stereo, but I may throw in my old pioneer 7700 but I don't know yet....

ill be tackling this myself soon.If the tweeters are anything like they were in my Lancer, there wont be an actual crossover (or small enough that it is just attached to the speaker itself). Most likely it only has the main speaker wire coming through the door, which you would just feed into the Kicker crossover.I know it isnt much help now, but once i get around to installing mine, I could be of more assistance.I had to also cut out the stock speaker on my lancer, to use the mounting bracket. I just used a dremel tool on it, and slowly cut away whatever wasnt needed.

Youll be able to know if its going to be a direct fit. Does your car have the upgraded sound system? If so, then there's already a set of tweeters in the Sail Panels (they cover the mounting bolts for the side mirrors). You can put the new ones there. I installed RF 6.5" in all the doors of my Matrix, and they fit perfectly in the stock ring on the back doors, but not so well in the front.good luck!

I have the tweeters and I figure that part will be easy. THe main speaker will be a little harder because of the old speaker needing to be cut out of the bracket, but I am more afraid of the depth issue and how to hook up the cross over if I really have 4 wires running to the 2 speakers. And I need to hook a sub into the system at some point but thats in the future. (Will put my L7's in there eventually)

Post up a link to the speakers you got. If you're going to be putting in a sub, ditch the factory deck and get a nice one! As for the crossover, i think you just hook the wires from the deck to the input and you'll have 2 outputs, one to the 6.5 and to the tweeter.

Low and behold, these speakers are going back for now. Apparently, I cant hook these up since they are 4ohm and the stock unit is 2ohm. I don't want to blow money on an aftermarket amp or a new head unit yet so yeah.... This sucks.
