OK I know that there is one already available for purchase, (if you can get a hold of smoebody from Krerea racing), but I found a company that is releaseing their hood in a few weeks here is there response to my e-mail: Yes, the plans for that hood are well underway, the hood may be available in as little as a couple of weeks. Please keep in touch, and I will keep you posted. Thanks,Dan Doeinck - SalesImpact Parts1-800-431-3400 Their pricing is the best I've seen Its only $363.36!!! That is a great deal. It is an OEM version hood only. Not ram air scope or anything like that. Dan was quick in responding to my e-mail as well. (

So you're saying this carbon fiber will allow more air to get in my CAI?

Yank the carbon fiber hood looks like the OEM hood, just not painted. They don't have a scope on it to allow cold air to enter the engine bay.

You could do what Nova did and let the Ram Air scoop blow air directly on to the short ram. Hooking up the Ram Air is really not worth it as there is minimal power gain and it is only at very high speeds. Letting the air blow onto the short ram allows it to get some cooler air instead of the air from the engine compartment.

Wouldn't there be a problem with water going through the ram-air opening and falling directly onto your filter if it was raining, however?

True, but they have air bypass filters that drains the water from the tube before your engine goes BOOM. They are like 45 bucks

I just contacted Wayson, and they said it would probably be a few months now, they have pushed back production, due to them releasing a budget line of body kits, and that they are having a hard time finding a hood to use for the mold! Keep in touch with me on a regular basis! This e-mail response was dated 7/9/03. I forgot to post it. My bad

If you think about it, even with the ram air hook up to the factory air box, water would still cause a problem. So they would need to come up with a solution to keep water from getting into the air box.
