Clean! I wish my wife's 2007 Abyss was that clean (though it might just be your photo). Hers seems to suck up rock chips on the hood like a vacuum.I still need to convince her to get a tint. Abyss Vibes look great with a tint.

Thanks for the compliment on the tint. The girl who did it, did a great job and it was only $215 CDN for all windows (except the windshield). The photo from the front was taken right after it was washed and waxed. My hood also for reason likes rock chips, there are ALOT. I really should get it sanded and re-painted before the chips get too rusted...

I think the thin paint is partially a Toyota thing, and partially because the car was built here in California, and we have painfully strong environmental laws, which means less thick paint. My last car was built near you -- 1998 Buick Regal GS, built in Oshawa. Nice thick paint. Hardly had any chips when I sold it with 95k on it.

Never actually thought of that but it makes sense...we also have a Honda Plant near here (Alliston, ON), I wonder if they have paint problems.

Two questions:
Window tint: I had all my windows tinted and I don't know much but the technition said it was one shade beyond legal. 2 years later I stripped the front windows back to clear. It was not only illegal, but scary at night. Is %10 lighter than %5? Can you see good at night?
Towing a boat?!? I have the 1200 pound (small) tow package. Did not know you could tow a boat with a Vibe. Is this the heavier tow package?
Thank You, Kip

~35% is "legal" in ontario for the front doors....its wishy washy at best as you "have to be able to see the driver"
i got 35% on the fronts and 20% on the rears, i think...

Thank You,
I had this same shade installed yesterday. Seems about perfect. I just hope that on those rainy dark nights here in Tacoma Washington it's safe. I just cannot stand the 5 moths each winter this car is in sunny Mexico roasting inside.

I have no problems towing our new boat (about 1300lbs). Last trip was about 600km, no problems at all, even at the boat launch. However, I did install a transmission cooler before I picked-up the new boat, i'm sure that makes a difference.
