THE GENVIBE PICTURE CHALLENGE THREAD

Post by bodhi_tree777 »

Saw this recently on a VW site I frequent, it was pretty cool and got really creative.Rules:Challenge photo must be taken AFTER the challenge is issued.Once you complete a challenge, you must post a picture with a new, and original challenge, nothing too outlandish, or obscure. While being creative, the new challenge must be generic. This is an international "event", so it needs to be accessible to everyone. Ex: Picture of car in front of monument. NOT picture of car in front of Washington monument.Any car may be used for the sake of keeping the game moving. Vibes and Matrixes are encouraged. This is meant to be somewhat fast paced, so quality of photos isn't really important. However, they must be discernible. Also, it doesn't matter if you have a super slammed, shaved, show car, or a daily beater, post up those pics. No one is/should be judging your car in this thread, just having fun with the challenges.Normally the way this works is you must take the picture AFTER the challenge is issued and it must be of your vehicle. (doesn't have to be your Vibe, but a car you own or are riding in). I'm putting this in bold because this seemed to cause some issues in the other forum, people kept posting old photos of their cars which sort of defeats the purpose of the challenge. So if the first person says "your car with a firetruck", you need to go out and take a picture with your car and a firetruck in the picture. Then you take a picture of your car with something else, and post that up as the example for the next challenge!Again, the picture must be taken after the challenge is issued, not an old picture from last week or 5 years ago that happens to meet the criteria. Nothing illegal and please try to keep it to stuff that anybody can find. Also can't be a specific thing, has to be a general thing. Anybody can find a fire truck, but not Chicago FD truck #45, just a fire truck. Here are some examples of things that make good challenges:Water towerspower generationcreepy old industrial buildingpier (close enough)Urban sprawlfire towerwatering holesice cream makerobservation post/one room school housemile markers Giant gnomescommunity poolswildlifeLodgemuseums lawn artExotic animalsRiver crossingBandstandsCaboosesGraffiticool old diner signAmbulancetool booth photo by attendantheavy equipmentmoose crossing signtopiarywaterfallsI'll start this off with my response today to the VW challenge thread to give everyone an example of how this goes. The challenge was "Your car next to the entrance of a retail store during business hours". I went out, shot a photo, and then took another pic of my car near some other landmark. Like so:retail store, during business hours: Next challenge, your car at a police station: So feel free to take it from there, someone shoot a pic of their car at a Police station and then that person gets to issue the next challenge. Enjoy!

I think a shot like that would still be very interesting to see, maybe post it in the Photography forum?

The slab has to have some sort of elevation. If the slab is higher than the surrounding terrain, that'll do I suppose.

Sorry it took me so long to post this new challenge but I was out in the sun all weekend and I think I got a touch of heat or sun stroke. Been under the weather a few days.Get a picture of your Vibe at a boat launch with some sort of watercraft either being towed or strapped to the roof racks! Good luck!
