Anyone notice this on their windshields?

At least on mine, running down the passenger side is a strip of the same kind of tint/coating/little dots/whatever that is behind the rearview mirror, but there isn't anything running down the driver's side? Anyone else's like this?I know I'm probably being nitpicky, but I'm curious if it's supposed to be that way.

Yes, I noticed that on mine before. I don't know why. Strange, isn't it?

Don't know if it is true for the Vibe, but factory installed windshields usually have unique features to aid in the installation equipment lining the glass up properly.

My only guess to why there is no strip on the driver side is because the light sensor is on that side of the dash and the extra shading "dots" would block some of the light.

Did you see my little dude sticking his tongue out at you? hehequote:Speaking of observations though...anyone else sick of hearing the jack/spare tire/etc...rattle really bad when you hit a decent bump?I am! I bought some foam (craft-type cushiony foam) and cut it up and stuck pieces in where the jack is to take up dead space area to prevent it from bumping around.

Good idea. I'll have to pick some up when I head to Ace hardware this week. They have charcoal gray indoor/outdoor carpeting w/rubber backing that I'm going to use for the cargo area

i hate those "dots" personally, i would MUCH rather the windshield came with the standard tint that most other cars come with. im not even sure the windshield can be tinted, cause the tint wouldnt stick to them dots Greg

i was under the impression that these dots were the am antenna, i remember my grandma's 84 cutlass had this, could be wrong, thats just what i thought it was, and when it comes to the windshield tint, you can always get the tint that goes on the outside

Windshield antenna have been used before but they were not dots. The first were in the early 70's with 2 wires inside the windshield. More current versions are on the back window and resemble the rear defrosters. My fathers '02 Grand Prix GT is that way.

becareful, my girlfriend's sunfire has the "matrix" along the top 4" of her rear window and they tried to tint over it and it looks like $h!t. there is too much air and the tint just bubles. When i get mine tinted we are gonna cut around the matrix. but we'll see how it looks.
