High Beams do NOT Work with Ignition ON

I have installed a Phillips HID hi/low beam kit. They have worked fine for almost a year until last night as I was driving home, I went to flick to high beam and the lights went dark. This would happen on the temporary setting and the clicking in high beams on setting.Today I tested the lights with the ignition off and they work fine in both low and high beam. Just when the ignition is on, nothing happens.Suggestions? Yes, I did disable the DRLs with a one wire to ground method.Thanks everyone.

What have you looked over? Checked the wiring? Did you try plugging in a set of halogen bulbs to run off the stock wiring to see if everything works correctly with the halogen bulbs?

I hooked a pair of halogen bulbs back up and they tested out fine on both low and high beam.today both the low and high beams work with the HID lights, but now the fog lights are not always working.Could a relay be hanging up going from low to high beams? Now I think the HID kit may not be the problem?

I hooked a pair of halogen bulbs back up and they tested out fine on both low and high beam.today both the low and high beams work with the HID lights, but now the fog lights are not always working.Could a relay be hanging up going from low to high beams? Now I think the HID kit may not be the problem?

If the fogs are going off when you trigger the high beams. That is correct, unless you modded the fogs to stay on with the highbeams. Now that you have determined it works correctly with the halogen bulbs. Most likely it is your hid relay causing the issue or a bad wire connection. Start by checking the grounds then check the relay harness for water damage.

I confirmed that I have a bad relay unit with the HID kit. Thanks for the ideas. The HID kit is Philips and they have a 2 year warranty.
