From what I read, (and of course, I believe everything I read on the internet) only 144,000 were to be taken up out of 6 billion (presumed sinners) among us on the planet. Unless you knew someone who was taken, who's going to notice if 1 in 44,667 of us is missing? That's like 3 times the population of my community, or 100 people out of the population of Chicagoland.

First off, it wasn't to a spaceship.Happily, we are all still here.My heart goes out to those very sincere, sincere in their incorrect beliefs, people who gave up much for this event. It breaks my heart how people are so innocently led astray by sweet talking personalities.As wrong as Camping was, he himself was shocked it didn't happen.Those who predict the end via Biblical theories tend to overlook two points that the Bible makes.1. After the great flood with Noah and the Ark, God felt remorse and promised to never destroy the world as he had just done so he gave us the rainbow as a sign of his promise.2. Scripture very clearly states that you will not at all know the season or the day or the hour.So why did this scriptured man ever devise this concept?Dave

Well spoken Dave, but on a more humorous side I think Harold Camping had the same issue as Nigel Tufnel did in Spinal Tap "Nigel gave me a drawing that said 18 inches. Now, whether or not he knows the difference between feet and inches is not my problem. I do what I'm told."
