I had one installed in my Toyota Tundra along with a K&N FIPK (CAI). I took the Tornado out of the tube for about 3 months just to see the difference. After I noticed a constant 1-2 mpg drop in fuel economy, I stuck it back in the tube. Whether or not you think it's crap, I know it worked on my truck. From experience, it worked great.

How do you reconcile that with the fact that trdvibe found measurable results in his Tundra truck?Sorry, but him swapping the Tornado off and on over a time interval isn't even close to being the only variable that affected his fuel milage a measely 1-2mpg. There are DOZENS of variables that could have affected his mileage.Putting a freaking piece of aluminum foil in your intake that inhibits the free flow of air into your motor will hardly help power and mileage. As I said in another thread, there is a few reported cases of the tornado getting sucked into and damaging the motor. Whoever designed and marketed this piece of crap is a genius. He/she takes people's money on a product that costs pennies to produce with a several thousand percent markup and laughs all the way to the bank on his/her way to the airport to take the private jet to the beach or ski resort where he/she owns properties.Capitalism and ignorance at it's best!

There are DOZENS of variables that could have affected his mileage.True, I'm sure there are plenty of variables in why the gas mileage went up and down such as how hard I drive or placing in 4WD or 2WD, air conditioning, windows, etc. Granted it is a piece of tin foil for $60 that you stick in the intake tube, but hey, it seemed to work. And 1-2 mpg gain in a V8 truck is pretty darn good if you ask me. When you pay $40 every 5 days for a fill up, that 1-2 mpg increase adds up pretty quick. I'm not saying this piece of tin will work for everything, I just know it did seem to work in my truck. I don't know how it would work in the Vibe, especially since we get pretty good gas mileage as it is. Besides, I thought the CAI is supposed to help increase gas mileage too?And to set the record straight: I'm a she and not a he (at least the last time I checked or someone else for that matter )

i had the tornado in my zx2 for 2 years and it worked great, went from averaging 28mpg before to averaging 32 after and that was in my weapon r intake i had. i filled up 10 times before and did my average. then i filled up 10 times after and did my average. all were in the summer months with no a/c since i had it taken off and replaced with pulley mount that replaces the a/c. I can vouch for this thing. not sure in a vibe but worked in my zx2, also worked in my roomates r/t neon with CAI and my co-workers tiburon gt with CAI

Self fulfilling prophecy? - you spend a chunk of change on something that supposed to save you gas... so you drive more conservatively after installing?I can't say I go either way - never owned one. Nor will I ever purchase one. Too many other proven mods that can help, like a CAI.
