Manual Trans. Temp. Sensor

Post by bassplayaz06 »

any of y'all ever added a temp sensor to your car? it seems simple, just buying the right one with the right thread type. the only company i've found is Edge Performance, which is only truck products.

You could I suppose pull the drain plug and replace it with an electronic temp gauge sensor.... but it's not really necessary. You would have to tow something really heavy really fast or have quite a low oil level for the temp to get anywhere near a temperature that would break down the gear oil.

Several times on automatics for watching temperature while towing. Never on a manual. What are your reasons for monitoring temps in a manual? There's no slippage in a manual to create excessive heat.

i want it more for cold starts and stuff. it's real hard in the mornings when it's cold and i wanna see when it gets warmed up so i don't break something by shifting faster too early.
