Cosmo SRI fitment issues

I just bought a cosmo sri for my 2004 vibe gt. Tried installing it tonight but i am running into fitment issues. I don't claim to know everything about cars, but i've installed 4 different intakes on 4 different cars before and never ran into any problems before. It seems like the main intake pipe's angle is completely off. I've compared multiple pictures to the one i have. this is what it should look like:http://www.cosmoracing.com/pro...=1442and this is what mine looks like:It seems like the pipe should be more angled. My intake pipe is actually hitting the brake reservoir and the filter wont even fit on. It onlyl fits if i loosen the coupler that is on the throttle body and angle it then, but then the coupler isnt really on the throttle body anymore. as you can see, the intake bracket is just in the middle of nowhere and can't be bolted down onto anything. I actually bought an ebay intake from option racing awhile ago, but decided to not put it on because i thought the quality was too cheap, however their intake pipe fits fine:also, where does this breather filter go? and do i even need it? I tried to follow the directions cosmo racing provided but they were horrible and the pictures looked nothing like what was in my engine bay. I am thinking they sent me the wrong intake, or i could be completely wrong and just installed it wrong. Here is another picture with the coupler loose.

I'd almost say that they sent you the wrong part!

I remember installing mine, and the bracket didnt line up either and I practically had to force it into place. I dont have the GT model, but it looks like similar problems I had run into.

Tons of people on here have cosmo intakes, unfortunately I am not one of them. I'm sure someone will chime in soon with some insight.

yeah i researched around first and saw that a ton of ppl got their intakes from them, so i figured they were a good company.

aiite want to verify that i got all the hoses right before i start driving the car around again, because i forgot how everything fits back. I have arrows pointing to the front of the car because i understand that these pictures can be confusing up close. first up, i was wondering if anything goes in the circled area? the inside looks threaded so it seems like a bolt can thread in there or something.i am fairly certain that this hose goes there but just wanted to make surei put this hose into the air intake airboxthanks!

they sent you the intake for the base vibe. they did the same with me when i ordered a cosmo CAI. couldn't use the vibramount and had to hammer in a huge dent for the headlight to fit. the breather filter is for the base vibe. i had extra hoses that were for that with mine.the reason it won't fit is becuase the base vibe with the different engine, the throttle body is at a different angle and location. it's farther forward and angled higher.

that is what i suspected. i am guessing you didnt contact them to try to get it resolved? thanks for the response and confirmation to my suspicion.

Not to hijack, but where does the breather go on the base?

I have a picture on the installation sheets that cosmo sent me on where the breather filter goes. The picture is in black and white tho and horrid quality. I can barely make it out in person but if you'd like, i can scan it and post it when i have time. or someone else can chime in.
