The factory amp in my friend 2003 vibe has blown. How easy/hard is it to run new speaker wires to 4 door speakers (back and front) direct from aftermarket HU?I have seen the bypass harness and dont feel like messing with it.Is there any other options?EDIT: Also I would like to add that she had infinity kappa's installed in the front years ago and I heard they are 2-ohm but still 100% compatible with stock HU's

If you are doing a re-wire it's not that difficult, getting wire through the door kinda sucks, but long wire ties, coat hangers...ect helpThe rest is just running wire..

Is there a picture that shows the wiring channel between car and door I can look at for reference? Also, any thoughts on infinity kappas with aftermarket HU since they say they run at 2ohm?

I don't have a pic, maybe if you find some of the install DIY's here, might have one... AFA Infinities.. well, they are 2 ohm, but are also well known for lack of midbass and shrill highs.. I've got a set of 4 crappa coaxials hangin out in the garage.. I'd have a bunch of options for you here, but I can't get my "hot deals" section/thread off the ground here...

Well, personally I dont care what they sound like! It isnt my car haha. All I know is that they are in there and have to make them work with what I got.Ill measure the OHM at the HU with a DMM and see what it shows aafter running 18g wire.

Ahh, not your car.. cool.. lol.. I wouldn't worry about ohming anything, unless you have problems, it's all pretty straight forward..

Ok thanks man. Its not that I ont care about doing it right because it isn't my car. It is that I dont care if the speakers arent the best sounding because I dont have to hear them.

My $.02, do the drivers side first, passenger side is pretty cake! When I did mine I popped the rubber boots off and released the molex plugs from the door and door frame. I slid a fish wire through and pulled the wire back.
