That must be one HECK of a nice used tranny!!!! I'd shop around, that is a really high price, even with installation. Installing a tranny is not brain surgery or a month long job.Dave

Sorry about the tranny issue. I'm surprised it died on you as those usually run forever Oh ... and MY 09 Vibe GT with manual 5-speed you CAN'T have I wish you luck on finding one out there but they are rare. Lots of automatics but very few manuals When shopping for mine I had to have it transported in from another state due to the rarity of them at that time. LEt us know what you "upgrade" to

Good luck with the hunt for a stick! It's well worth it to not have a rubber band connected to the wheels!

if not fixing, what are you doing with the ride? Gonna scrap it or sell it cheap with a busted trans?

To know exactly what car you want, then being able to go out, hunt it down and get what you're looking for sounds like a lot of fun. Hopefully you're not completely car-less with your 03 out of commission. If you do part the 03 out, let us know. I'm certainly interested in several parts from the (if the the entire) center console from an 03.

if you have the power package i'd buy all the guts of the 4 doors and harness and cruise control stuff. You are close enough that i can come pick it up. I'd also take the front bumper and air dam pieces if it wasn't a monotone and had the generic plastic.

My first guess was that this post was about The Crying Game.Anyway, sorry to hear about the misfortune. There are just a few key differences between the GT and a 2.4L base.GT has different air dam (with integrated fogs) side skirts, rear spoiler and rear diffuser. Personally, I love the front bumper cover but if you want splash guards they don't fit.The 2.4L might come with fog lights or they can be added. I added the GT spoiler for looks. The GT has 18" wheels. Personally, I don't like them as much as the 17" optional wheels, but many people love them. The GT has IRS. I almost wish I had worked harder to get this, especially now as it seems that 1st gen lowering springs will work. The GT has leather bolsters on the seats. I prefer the look of the cloth in the 2.4L over the GT cloth inserts. Another judgment call.GT comes with the stereo upgrade and the 2.4L it has to have it as an option. Same with the moonroof I think. Not sure if there is really anything else between the two that is different. If you don't need a moonroof, I'd encourage you to also expand your search to include the 1.8L cars.
