Mystery bolt appearance

Hi all,So I removed the engine cover to get at the OCV to clean it. As I was removing the OCV I noticed a stray bolt, just hanging out on the head, between a couple of the exhausts, pretty much right behind the oil dipstick.Sorry I didn't take a picture of the bolt where I found it, but here's a photo of it, anyway. BTW there is a hole tapped in the engine block just over and up of the OCV where the bolt could fit, but the hole looks like it dead-ends and the bolt is too long to seat anyway...Any ideas?

That bolt could come from several places. It probably is from your car and most likely wasn't put back in on a previous service. Unfortunately it isn't unique enough for me to point out where it goes.

looks like a pretty generic bolt. what work have you had done recently? i would check anything that could have been removed in the process.

Looks like a body bolt. Holds a hinge, a fender, a lid or similar.Car ever been hit and visited the body shop? If you aren't the original owner it is time to start looking REAL CLOSELY at it for signs of damage and repaint. Over spray, tape edges along rubber and mouldings, etc.Dave

What size is it? Could narrow it down a little. Most likely its not an important part but you never know.

looks like a bolt from a ground nside the engine bay over by the battery. when i replaced the clutch, there were several of those bolts all over the car. not a body panel bolt though. those dont have a washer or lock washer.
