Driver's side low beam out, high beams work

Five days to get this fixed so that it remains a warning, not a violation.I know i should check fuses, and power at the bulb terminal. . . what else should I check to see if I can fix this myself? Based on some previous discussion (
http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=37043), sounds like it's not the fuse. . . but it should be an easy check with a voltmeter. I was looking for an excuse to buy one.

Is it an '03--08? There are two filaments in the 9003 headlight bulb. Likely that the low beam (and also the Daytime Running Light filament, because it's the same one) is broken. Since it's on 100% of the time in DRL mode, it usually goes first.

kostby nailed it.Happened to my 05 base a few months ago. Easy fix.Might not hurt to do both at the same time. I had both go in a span of 4 days.

I think sparrow has an 06, so it's a dual filament bulb.If you want to be sure, you can swap the driver/passenger bulbs to see if that has an effect. On my son's 03 trix, sometimes one headlight would go out, but if you thumped the fender it would come back on. Turned out it was a bad bulb. You can't always tell by looking at the bulb.I try to never buy silvania bulbs anymore, even the regular brightness ones just don't last very long.

NAPA brand lasts longer than Sylvania.

Exact same thing happened to me 3 days earlier. Got a 9003 at Napa for for about $8.50. Would have got the Philips Night Guides, but I don't do much driving in the dark in Spring & Summer, maybe this Fall.Pro Tip: If you've got huge hands like me it will be a lot easier to replace that driver's side bulb if you pull the battery.
