Last June, I shut off my car and the lights wouldn't shut off and the buzzer stayed on, no beeping just a long beep or buz sound until I shut the door. I went to class and came back my battery was dead. I got a new battery and now, almost a year later, same problem. I bought a good battery so it shouldn't be that, any ideas????By the way, I tried disconneting the battery for a few mins but still have the same problem.

That's a good trick. I have no idea what it would be, but am interested to find out what it is.

Do you have daytome running lights or automatic lights? Could be the sensor or a bad control stalk.

Eliminating the obvious, did you turn the headlights on using the end of the turn signal stalk? The lights will go on and off by themselves when the headlight control is in the OFF position, but won't turn off automatically if it's in the ON position.

The "buzzing" sound could be a relay chattering which could cause the battery to drain. Now which relay or cause is anyone's guess. Sorry I can't be more help. You have any more symptoms?

Might help if the experts here knew the model year, AT or stick, - or might not.

I second the idea headlight switch on the turn signal lever was accidentally turned to 'on'.Check to see if the interior lights were left in the 'on' position on the dashboard dimmer wheel, and if you have a sunroof, see if the light next to the sunroof buttons was left on by mistake. And if the back glass or rear hatch aren't both shut completely, either one could cause the interior lights to stay on.I've also had a problem with two door switches, where they would stick. Both times for me though, the switches stuck in the 'off' position, so the interior lights did not come on at all.If your battery is only a year old, it probably can be recharged and will work fine, provided that you can fix the source of the lights staying on.

OMGosh, LOLOLOL, that is indeed what it was. I can't believe that I've owned this car for 6 years and this only happened twice. I did not have it turned off on the stick or lever by the steering wheel.Thank you very much everyone

Glad others could figure it out. I was a bit confused by the "buzzer" sound.
