Guess where we were yesterday :)

The vibe thinks it's a race car One of my side gigs is working security at the Kansas Speedway when they have their big races, I work on the infield at what I consider the best position, which is the gate which leads out to the pits and the bullpen where all the turn 1 E-vehicles sit. We have to attend annual orientation meetings and this year it was held on the infield in the media center, so we had to drive in and park in the A-B (Cup series) side garages. SOO, even though the car is dirty....I couldn't pass up the photo op!!With the grandstands in the background, and you can see a little of the track to the right of the A garage:And facing the other direction, you can see the track, that's turn 3:

I really hope they build a road course out there. I know they had talked about it for a while but I never read any updates. I would LOVE to see the Rolex Grand Am series make a stop there. Outside of F1 it's about the only racing I watch.Nice to see another KS person on here by the way.

For some reason, they're building an F1 road course in Austin, Texas, of all places. Kansas may have lost out it seems, but if Grand Am or ALMS races in Austin, it's only a few hours away for you. Unfortunately, it's all way too far from here!!Too bad camo couldn't take a spin around the track. Should be one of the race track worker benies!!!!!!!!

I think taking a spin on the track should be an option lol.As far as the road course, we've all heard the rumblings, but that kinda dies out once we got the news about the casino. Not sure what's gonna happen since IRL pulled out of there, we are left with just the two NASCAR weekends now, it would be nice to finally get that third big weekend.AND More KS ppl = YAY!

Nice pics! One of the things Indy has is a 'Fan Appreciation Day' in May when anyone can drive own vehicle around the track for the cost of track admission. Not the full track, and not at speed (

That would be COOL Kotsby! KSPDWY needs to do the same thing!!Xprt... call the texas speedway and ask them how they do it... it's not terribly hard to get hired here, in interest of security I won't detail it publicly, but you should be able to contact them and ask them how to get on with event security.

I've planned for a while on taking a vacation up to Canada to see an F1 race at some point.
