Looking at the Frontier roof racks at Canadian tire. I have existing side rails on car. Is it better to attach cross bars to them or get the ones that attach directly to the roof?Or is it better to get the factory cross bars from GM?Thanks

The answer is yes. Different people have different choices in their roof racks. I use one that attaches above the front doors and also to the roof rails. The GM branded ones are usually some that GM re-brands in their name.

Are they 2 different racks or from the same set? All the ones i see are a set of 2 identical cross bars.

Would the side rails be in the way of a system that attaches directly to the roof? Would I need a cross bar that attaches to the side rails in the back and the roof in the front? I need that kind of span to carry what I want.
