How much did this cost and what is the process of installing this?

Is there a benefit to this? Or just for looks?

There's a BIG benefit to film. It's between 12 and 20 mils thick so it protects the lenses from stone chips and breakage too. It's around $20 to do the fogs alone... $60 for the headlamp and fogs. Well worth it, IMO. Cheap insurance.It's flexible and easy to install, especially the fog lights (10mins tops,) and its available in clear as well as colors. (See my sig.)I had to do the headlamps using bulk material as they didn't offer pre-cut material for the Vibe at that time. Boy, was that a PITA!! But I got it done.

I bought Rvinyl on ebay...same stuff different nameanyways, i bought 2sq feet for $7 and did my fogs, map lights, and my bros fogs AND driving lights on his trans am....FOR $7winning EDIT: forgot I ALSO did my reverse lights 8)

06p I never realized you had done your hl but now I can see, looks awesome! I know a film on anything is good, my fogs are beyond repair, one cracked and sealed with some kinda gunk... But I really wondered about the yellow color, is that just for looks or what?

Check out this eBay auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-08-...61830$80 for the pair w/free shipping. I'd hate to be w/o the fogs, and independent mod on ours. They help fill in the blanks a lot when the hi-beams are on.As far as the color is concerned, I have not tried the yellow though they are supposed to change the color of the light output.The "optic" blue that I use does not. I wanted to retain the white light output. They only looks blue during the day.

Those look nice, APM. There are enough pictures in here to make me want to buy some of these for my Vibe. They'll have to wait, though, since I have some other expenses to take care of first.I'm not a big fan of Bama but I was really hoping that they would have knocked off LSU. Despite being pretty slow, that was a fun game to watch. It really was just a matter of which team would make the biggest mistake. Unfortunately, it was Alabama, and at a very inopportune time. At least your season will yield much better results than the Hawkeyes'. The loss to Minnesota was a huge disappointment. But we beat 15th ranked Michigan and are now bowl eligible, at least. Iowa isn't the best team but they're fun to watch because you never really know what's going to happen.

I used to road rally a Volvo sedan and while probably a bit of overkill ensued (re: I was over excited about it at the time,) and since we sometimes ran at night, I had three sets of additional "supplimental" lighting on the car... besides having a Euro H4 Cibie headlamp set up on it. All had their own defeat switches but were relayed into the headlights for proper operation. A set of 6" round white fogs above the bumper for clear weather cornering and additonal low beam lighting.Another set of 6" driving/passing lights, also above the bumper for great distances when using the high beams.And lastly a set of Bosch rectangular yellow fogs below the bumper for poor weather. The yellows sucked in anything but bad weather. They were distracting, IMO. The whites were much more flexible in all weather conditions, but not as good in the occassional bad weather conditions and this is why most manufacturer's use white fogs instead of yellows. This is a pic of one of the passing lights, but the white fogs were from the same manufacturer, Carello (Lamborghini/Fiat.) Sadly, I no longer have them. They were great supplimental lighting.

I'm not a fan of the yellow fogs. Looks cheap to me. My fogs are especially bright and I just use them for extra lighting 100% of the time. We never have fog here, bad enough to need them anyway.

You're going to laugh at me:I was examining my car while I waited for my friend to smoke and the car to warm up after work last night, and I thought about this thread, so I went round front to look at the fogs, because I had never specifically looked when the lights are on. And they were not on. I never use the HL switch because I'm prone to leaving lights on, so I love the auto lights. However I turned them on and WHOOP! Fogs. I saw my fogs for the first time last night.... LOL.

They look GREAT!!You should know not to leave the fog lights on for extended periods of time while sitting still, such as in a traffic jamb. The film will brown/burn. This happened to a friend in our Mazda club a few yrs ago. Just an FYI.

I have been tossing around the idea of trying out yellow fog lights, but if I do decide to give them a go, I will be using yellow bulbs. I don't mind the fog lights lighting up yellow, but I am not a fan of the housing itself being yellow.

I personally do like the look, but as I'd said, found from experience that unless you have lots of bad weather and fog where you are that yellow fogs are distracting... at least to me.I did consider doing the yellow on my Mazda the first time and when the film was replaced last year (Texas sun damage.) But in the end decided for me, keeping them white (blue) was the better choice.
