I think we have quite a few here who got degrees in these areas. I'm going to need a new (read: serious, screaming) computer in the next couple of months; I'd like to do a complete redo of my site, including adding another line, and hoping to add flash animations, music, etc. and my new HP Mini netbook just ain't gonna cut it LOL. I would like to know what you use, and a guesstimate of how much it cost. Thank you in advance

I use a MacBook Pro and love it... but they can be pretty expensive. I prefer Macs for creative/design applications, just never liked the PC operating systems and everywhere I have learned/worked have had macs as the standard. However, go with what you are comfortable with. I have a friend that does all of her design work on PCs. Are you going to be purchasing programs as well? Have you done much web designing in the past. What applications are you familiar with?

I use a PC with the Adobe Web CS4. I don't do much design, but more development.

My desktop is a PC which we have customized ourselves. My laptop is a Macbook (13 inch). Both can run all of the Adobe graphics programs just fine. If built properly, I have found zero difference in performance between Macs and PCs for graphics.
