Looking for opinions

I am replacing the front component speakers since my right side blew. Currently I have the stock stereo installed but will upgrade soon. Anyways, I typically go with Kicker stuff but since Im not installing my subs right now I want a good sound without them. I am trying to stay relatively cheap and here is what I found so far, what do you think?

I wouldnt go with the Fusions i hear they are terrible. I just got kicker door speakers all the way around, but they are a different series and mine sound excellent. I'd go with kicker because they are really perfecting their door speakers. Soundstream is getting much better, but its relatively their subs and amps that are getting the attention. Kicker is the way to go on these

My opinion - the Vibe noise is such that an expensive sound system is not worth it.

I was thinking of putting in some dampening when the weahter turns. I just want some good sound for my drives to work and stuff. The road noise is loud and with the right speaker being out I need to crank the radio to hear the music/ talkshows on the way in.

I have to turn my radio up pretty loud while driving to work on the freeway (esp. for talk radio). I've been meaning to install dampening myself for awhile but haven't done it yet.

Ah yes, the difference between the older owner/drivers and the younger ones In my earlier days, it was all about the sound systems no matter what car it was in But today, with some mild hearing loss (don't get my wife's opinion, though ) the road noise is almost unnoticeable but the radio is still up at a modest volume

hmm...wouldn't a good sound system with a more robust sound combat the road noise quite well, though? At least, that was my thought when considering a sound system upgrade.

I'd be interested in knowing more about the available sound dampening options - even though I rarely even listen to the radio etc.
