My mom and I were behind this Camry last weekend when I happened to notice the trunk lid...

Yes, but it's still a LOT better than the earlier Vibe paint jobs, before the 08'; ESPECIALLY the '05's Consumer reports DOESN'T list 'paint and trim' as a problem on ANY of the models (except the 04 and 05 Matrix); so really, aside from some isolated bad cars, Toyota's paint is FAR better than ANY other car line on the planet.

I'd say this guy was doing some serious tailgating at the Bears/Packers game last Sunday and when he put his HOT grill away, he forgot to turn it off and set the trunk on fire This truly looks like a "heat/blistered" condition and could be from something in the trunk getting extremely too hot It does NOT look like your typical base coat/clear coat paint blemish where they separate & peel. Just my theory on this one

Wow thats terrible! I dont think Toyota paint jobs arent so bad. Im positive my 03 Vibe wasnt waxed until I bought it & the clearcoat isnt peeling. No signs anywhere for peeling. I live in South Florida & paint takes a beating from the heat here.

I've seen way worse LOL. We have all the salt air, so missing paint/dents/scrapes= rust in no time flat here

Is it wrong that I wanted to follow him, wait for him to go into a store or something and grab the paint that was sticking up and peel even more of it off ?!It made me think back to the good old days of Pimp My Ride when they would do a hideous paintjob that made it "look like the car was going so fast the paint peeled right off" !

Only issue with my 04 is on the front. The bugsplats have eaten right through it. I would love to have the whole urethane portion of the frontend just like the Lower "plastic" portion. I can use mild scotchbrite on that and it cleans up so nice.

I'd be willing to bet that the back end of that car has been repainted.
