No it was always fusion orange, good observation though, the ppg base coat I sprayed it withis a little more orange than the original fusion orangeand the original engine compartment color (not the same as the outside, of the car no metallic was way too orange) I had to tint it a lot to a more red oxide to match the factory engine compartment color. I cut polished the panels I did not paint (rear doors)and the color matched very well. Thanks for all the comments.

That reminds me of the trans-am with the bird on the hood, I wonder what a smaller version would look like on the hood of a Vibe! Thanks for all the positive comments,I think the next item I will be adding is cruse control, I hear its not to hard to install one of these

Quote, originally posted by fulltank »That reminds me of the trans-am with the bird on the hoodYou mean something like this This was one that I hand painted some 25 years ago on my '74 formula. Take note of the missing hood scoop and the fact that this was a fiberglass cowl induction type hood Also was able to make the body of the bird larger with the deletion of the scoop! I included one of my many "during" photos just so you'd know that this was REALLY painted and not the decal.Back onto this original topic ..... Outstanding workmanship and I really LOVE that color. I almost held out for a 2010 due to them bringing back that color BUT it would have cost me $$$ dearly

That was a nice replica paint of the decal were talkin cool vintage. If you tried to line a decal over that cowlinduction it wold not have looked very good. That wasa great job on getting that even flat look over the hoodI'm impressed. Maybe it can be photo shopped on a hood of a vibe.
