I thought it only locked itself if you allow enough time to elapse between unlocking with the remote and opening the door for security reasons. I've never had it lock after I opened the door.

The doors automatically lock with time, apparently. I pressed the unlock button once, and a minute later I heard them lock before I opened the door. I unlocked all of them, and it didn't automatically lock, so there's that.

i know it locks after 30 seconds of pressing unlock if you don't open a door, but it's just weird that it locked itself. must have been a freak thing. sometimes if there's a big storm the alarm will randomly go off.

I have the same problem with one of my doors but it's the rear passenger. There's a switch on the inside of the door frame covered with rubber. It should move a little and it is what tell the car your door is closed. It's probably broken like mine. I never got mine fixed because I don't care about the rear passenger door.

Did you ever put the key into the ignition? I remember reading a variety of situations int he manual about when the anti-theft kicks in and when it doesn't. I'd have to go read it again to see if unlocking the door with remote but never inserting the key was a condition.

Here's how mine works. If I use the remote to unlock the doors the car will lock itself within a few minutes. If I use the door unlock switch (Driver or Pass) they will stay unlocked. If I use the remote to unlock the doors then press the door unlock switch it will stay unlocked.I now get in a habit whenever unlocking the car with, the remote, I hit the door unlock switch after opening the car.

I think my '09 works like this. Will relock if you unlock with the remote and do not open the door within about 30 seconds. If you open the door within 30 seconds it will not relock - stays unlocked until you out the car in gear and start moving. Example, if I back the car out of the garage and then my wife tries to get in she finds the door is already locked - somewhat of a pain. On my T&C the automatic lock doesn't engage until you are going about 15 mph.
