Welcome to GenVibe!!!There have been a few members here to put a CAI onto the 2.4. Check out ponta2147, JtoEnvy or Vibedrivermatt's garage thread!Quote, originally posted by jaxxonline »Gforce chipYou'd probably get better results and more horsepower by spending that money on some go-fast v-tec, NOS, nismo stickers... (AKA - Don't waste your money)

I have seen a steady gain of 1-2 mpg and a little more oomph with this intake. More noticeable than anything else though is the swesome "growl" it gives the engine during acceleration. I highly recommend it for every '09-'10 2.4L owner! As star said, don't waste your money on a chip.

Also agree about the CAI. What's nice is that the K&N Typhoon is a short ram, so it's a bit of the best of both worlds in terms of power/sound vs ease of dealing with it... plus the install isn't too bad to do yourself either!

Well, not to death-bump an older thread, but I figured I might as well keep the forums clean and not waste a new thread...Would a K&N typhoon fit a 1.8? I'm a newb when it comes to automobiles, so please excuse my stupid... I realize it says 2.4 but is the layout under the hood THAT different?

They make one specifically for the 1.8:

Well dang, I'm sorry for wasting your time ... Thought I checked thoroughly, I guess a couple sites didn't load up on my phone due to terrible service I'm the woods -_-

Just remember, Corolla/Matrix/XD have the same engine so you can look those models up as well when you search for parts and accessories!
