Headlight suggestions?

I have a 2004 Vibe that I bought used in December of 05. The low beam headlight on the driver's side is out and I'm thinking that I should replace both headlights since (as far as I know) the lights are now more than six years old and the other light could go at any time. I spent most of my life in New York City without a car and don't feel able to replace the lights myself. I'd appreciate any suggestions on what kind (brand?) of lights to get and whether I should have them put in at my dealer or by an independent mechanic. Thanks

Looking under the hood I see that I'd have to remove the battery to get at the headlight and I don't have the tools or experience to do that.

There's an Advance Auto about eight miles from here, but their web site says they install batteries and wiper blades for free....nothing about headlights.

You don't have to remove the battery, but it would make it easier. I've changed the bulb behind the battery without taking it out.

There doesn't seem to be enough room in front of the battery to do this.
