It needed much work. Windshield, coolant, brakes, fuel pump, clutch, tires, front end paint... it had been abused by my roommate whom I sold it to... He decided that he wanted to move to Toronto and still owed me $$$ for the car so I told him to just gift it to me and we'd call it square. So that left me with an uninsured car taking up an extra spot in the parking lot and the strata on me to do something with it or pay $$$ to rent an extra spot and not have it towed...So who do you know that would want to buy a 2 door 200000km car that needs tons of maint. with no A/C??? $3000 for sale sign & castanet/kijiji ads got me 0 calls as did $2500...When I got my winter tires put on The Vibe I asked the owner of the shop what he thought about doing a trade, car for tires/rims. He said ok but wanted to see the car first so my buddy who works there grabbed the D plate and drove it to work a few days later. I met up with his boss a little later that day and we signed the paperwork!!!I suppose I could have spent some $$$, done all the work to it myself, sold it easier and came out exactly the same $$$ as where I am now as I needed needed summer tires for the Vibe anyways. The new rims and tires were quoted to me at $1670.XX installed and out the door. (good old 12% tax)It was a good car, never gave me any trouble, never had to take it into the dealer for anything. Took me to Cali and Vegas several times as well as numerous other roadtrips!!!

I Sunfires and those wheels just aren't my taste . As long as you like them, that's all that matters!

IMO it was a good trade, but I've never really liked the Sunfire.

Sounds like a good trade to me!I agree with you on the black lug nuts - normally I like the contrast of chrome but you already got the red.

Looks good, wish I had gotten some wheels when I parted with my sunfire but it was totally broken down at 120,000 miles. Lucky to get the few hundred I did for it. I was a great little car though... good memories!

Not bad, SD. I'd like to see a better picture though, which I'm sure is coming anyway. Not the best angle or lighting, and as you'd said, she need a bath.

Can it really be time for summer wheels and tires in Vernon, B.C. already???Don't worry about a proper wash, just take a hose and rinse that nasty winter muck off your fender liners, please! Then take another picture so we can see what those wheels really look like on your Vibe. We all think they look pretty good, but it's hard to tell with the mucky tan stuff sticking to everything inside that wheel well. Did I miss what size tires you mounted on your 17s?

Based on that one pic alone, I would agree that they need a little bling *edit* in the center of the wheel. The question is, could you get red lugs that would not compete with the red outline on the wheels, but instead compliment it?Then you could get some blue or green LEDs and mount them in the ends of the lug nuts!! j/k. That would be a little too Fast 'n' Furious, I think? But seriously, a little more bling there wouldn't hurt, IMO.You might also consider plugging the unused lug holes.

More pics in my Garage thread.Quote, originally posted by vibolista »Can it really be time for summer wheels and tires in Vernon, B.C. already??? All the snow is gone!!! Not that I'll be here for too much longer...It should be noted that I took a trip to Red Deer with these tires about 16 hours after that pic was snapped... and lets just say that these tires handle the snow better then the RS-A's ever did!
