I had mirrors like that on my 08 Lancer before i sold it. they were tough to install though.

self-leveling projectors? What exactly is their function and purpose?I've never seen anything like that

The projectors reminds me of the Terminator movies.

Someplace on the car is a gyroscope. He was actually holding it in his hand. As you crest hills, as you can see the projectors raise and lower to match the roadway. As the gyroscope moves it moves a motor on the projectors.They also have projectors that turn with the steering wheel. So as you make a turn the projectors turn to match the turn of the roadway.

...for those few who can recall "back" that far, it sounds like an electronically stabilized version of the old Preston TUCKER "cyclops" third-eye headlamp!

The self leveling is hopefully limited somewhat, which would be useful for hauling loads in the back. I would not want to be coming down a 12% grade with my lights shining off into space (or into the eyes of oncoming drivers).
