What's that smell when you're acellerating hard?I can smell it when i'm behind another car and we're both speeding on the highway, and when i'm parking somewhere after taking lots of corners(fast).I have the manual 5spd '06Thanks,Laser

i didn't read the whole thing, but it's not a sulfur-like smell, It's more like burning metal...

have you installed something new in the engine bay lately? any mods or painting? have you done or had done maintenance projects lately; overfilled the washer fluid, coolant, oil/additives, etc. etc.

It's a smell i pick up from most cars when they accellerate. It's usually my assumption that the car needs an oil change or somethiing when i smell it, but i've not had it for that long. Maybe i should put some special oil in it next change.

I think I know the smell you are talking about. I get a funny smell when accelerating hard and hitting lift. It kinda' smells like Epoxy Putty (the putty you kneed to mix the hardener into the material to create a putty that will get concrete hard in a few minutes) to me. Not sure what it is but have always wondered

I have an aftermarket downpipe on my SS. After rough driving you can sometimes smell the exhaust inside the car at a stop. DP has a high flow cat. If you smell burning eggs or something though, thats a bad cat.....

hmmmm.............. let's go with slipping and burning clutch.....................
