Hey everyone, I use the little compartment on the left of the steering wheel to hold change but alot of the time it can be hard to see in the dark.I want to wire in some LED's to shine inside. I dont want a separate manual switch. Any ideas what sort of switch I can mount to make the light turn on when the compartment door opens?

Wire the LED to stay on when the ignition is on ... the current draw for one LED is so small... and they do not make any heat ..

Thats too easy, I will probably do it like that if i cant figure out what type of switch wilL work. I rather not see the mini glovebox glowing at night though, reminds me too much of indiana jones .

The magnetic switch says Switching current (max.): 0.5W. would that be enough for leds? Both the magnetic and the micro switch would be pretty easy to adapt i think

No I ended up getting a cherry sub-mini size snap switch with the arm but no roller

Sweet, thanks for the props.. It's been a long time, but when I was installing, I got to do some AMAZING things... linear actuators, motorized panels, servos.. lol.. I wish I had pictures, it was all pre-digital camera and I was too poor or stupid, to not take pics of the things I worked on..
