'03 Automatic Noise When Put in Gear

Hi! I am a newbie. This is my first post. I bought an '03 Vibe a couple of weeks ago. It has 112K miles. When I bought it, it had 2K miles since its last oil change, and the oil looked spankin' new and plenty full.I've owned cars for over 40 years, and in some ways I know enough, but I'm not super savvy and I've never worked on them.My Vibe sounds great in neutral or park, and if it is plenty warm, it sounds great in gear, too. But if I put it in gear when it is cold, it makes a deep rattle sound for a short time.Any insight for me as to what this noise could be? Anything else I should mention to help you help me?Thanks.

check your exhaust manifold cover. It's possible it's rattling.Could also be a bad motor mount thats causing more vibration than whats normal.

beautiful, keith. I am so envious of all the beautiful cars. I wish I knew how to do all that. Unfortunately, I live in Alaska and don't have a garage. I'm kind of out of luck with the do-it-yourself stuff at this point. Not to mention that I am in my 50s, a woman, and have seemingly little aptitude. However, I did buy a book yesterday on painting a car - both small patch up jobs and whole body. At least I'll learn something. Thanks for the suggestions.
