i installed a 460 watt Dual amp and 2 premier subs in my car today, ran the input off the passenger rear speaker. the radio will play for about a minute then just cut off. my display is dead so i cant see if it says anything. im thinking its drawing too much current and shutting off. any advice?
Did you use a converter or splice the RCAs into the rear channels? After the radio shuts down does it re-power by its self? Where is your remote wire tied in at? Where did you pull power for the amplifiers 12V input? Do you have the factory moon and tunes package? If I placed a guess in left field I would say you have a short somewhere. With that said, make sure none of the connections are shorting out. I really don't think you are pulling enough current to drop the radio just by adding an amplifier. If your battery and alternator are weak I could see the added current being an issue, but then you would also have other issues.

Does the radio cut out, and the sub keeps playing, or is the sub amp cutting out too...?? As Audio said, how are you connected.. I would trust a Dual amp speaker level input section to save my life.. Just an opinion thought..
i have the RCA's spliced into the rear passenger speaker, the remote just connected dirrectly from the remote spot to the power input (temporary), the amp's connected dirrectly to the battery, and both the radio and the subs cut off. after a couple minutes, the radio comes back on if the subs are off and its at a low volume.
it's not a lose ground, it's that you spliced the RCA (low level) into the speaker wires (high level) and you are over-driving everything.. Quote »i have the RCA's spliced into the rear passenger speaker, you need a LOC (Line Output Converter)
