I know there are a few locals and ones who have traveled to the area, what is a good place? As in cleanliness, service, parking, price?

Hey,I've stayed at a few hotels around here. The best value IMO would be Cartier Place Suite Hotel at 180 COOPER ST, Ottawa, Ontario K2P 2L5. It's a converted apartment building with good sized well-equipped mid-range quality suites for the same price as shoe-box sized hotel rooms. It's within 5-10 minutes walk of tons of downtown amenities, and has indoor parking available. There are plenty of better higher-end hotels, yes, but you'll pay big $$.Enjoy your visit!

Depends on what you're looking for, price wise and where abouts you want to be. Most people want to be downtown. The Hilton Lac Leamy across the Ottawa River in Gatineau is gorgeous and has parking but you'd have to drive across the bridge to get to downtown Ottawa. Downtown (Byward Market Area) there is a Holiday Inn along the canal - husband's office hosted a weeklong conference last year and they stayed at the Holiday Inn. There's the Westin attached to the Rideau Centre but they're building a conference centre right beside it so there might be construction noise. There's the Lord Elgin on Elgin St (never stayed there but my brother has). Of course there's the Chateau Laurier which is probably the fanciest hotel in Ottawa. Those are the bigger named hotels. There's also Arc the Hotel on Slater St. Again, my brother stayed there and he seemed to like it. Slater is on the bus transit way though so its a busy street.

On Coventry? I've only been there for the fireman's calendar launch. But they are also doing construction there as well. Its quite near my house actually.

I made a reservation at Lac-Leemy also. Pros/Cons between lac-Leemy and one of Coventry?

That would have been my second choice for a suggestion. Coventry and the Casino aren't within walking distance of anything really (do you really want to drive to sights, restaurants, etc?). What the Casino will give you is a great view from your room, and night time gambling, if that's your thing.

Ive only ever stayed at Crowne Plaza and Chateau Laurier (Fairmont). Both are nice, but not sure on price, as it was paid for by work.

I would go with either LordElgin or LacLeamy. I really like Lac Leamy. But Lord Elgin is close to all the tourist things.

The Hilton Lac-Leamy was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in, and their Restaurant is absolutely amazing. The Lord Elgin is nice, my wife and I had our honeymoon there (yes we had our honeymoon in the city we live in) but I was very disappointed with the room service and the restaurant for dinner and for breaky. Although there is a Starbucks in the lobby. The Lord Elgin is just a short walk to the Market so bonus there and valet parking only, but that was kinda cool except for the fact that I was driving a 98 Sunfire GT that was totally beaten up and the valet had to take me into the garage because he couldn't start it!!!Nicest hotel in the city is the Brookstreet Hotel, but that is really far into the west end, about a 20 minute drive to downtown on the highway.
