Ulitmate Retrofit HID Projectors for the Vibe

(Note: This thread has been stickied. )I had installed HID's in my oem housings earlier this year. While I love the light output, I do not love the list scatter and patches of dark areas. I wanted a more consistent light spread. So, I talked with, GenVibe's Own, Keithvibe about his company, Ultimate Retrofit. I checked out his website: http://www.ultimateretrofit.com/ and saw the pics there, here on GenVibe and on MatrixOwners of previous work he has done. After doing some research I felt Keithvibe was the best option for going with projectors. So, I bought a set of new oem '03-'04 Vibe headlights and shipped them to him. Here are some pics of the retrofit in progress:(the blue tape is for protecting the lens from scratches)(here the are all sealed and ready to ship back to me)I will post pics after they are installed as well as comparison pics vs. regular HID's as well as Philips X-treme bulbs. If you want projectors, Keithvibe is the man to go to. He does great work for a reasonable price, quick turnaround and is willing to answer any questions you may have. I'm very happy with how they look so far. Can wait to get them later this week and install them this weekend if the weather cooperates. BTW, I bought the 6000K HID's with white halos. Thanks again, Keith. (Now aren't you glad I didn't title this thread "Keithvibe, I love you" ??) Installed Pics:

Looked at KV's website, but didn't see any prices. What does he charge to do this?

I've been wanting to do this as well but obviously need to get some spare headlights as it is illegal to drive without them while KeithVibe is retrofitting them haha. Only problem is they are a tad expensive... BlueCrush, if you don't mind I was wondering where you purchased your headlights from and what you paid. Also, how difficult is it to get them all hooked back up?

Thanks BC for the kind words. I try to make everyone who I do work for happy with the outcome. There are those sticklers who, are looking for something for nothing, or those who expect platinum from silver, so to speak. But, I try to make everything right and make the person happy. Some just don't understand the word 'custom' though. Besides the web page I also have photos of work I've done on facebook:http://www.facebook.com/home.p...55839Quote, originally posted by SlammedNiss »Looked at KV's website, but didn't see any prices. What does he charge to do this? There is a reason for this, some want special items added or changed, which changes the basic pricing. It is reasonable, I'm not out to make millions, trust me. LOLYou can contact me here or threw the webpage, I prefer threw the webpage only because some IM's haven't been coming threw in a timely manor. Each headlight has a power lead from the battery, each headlight has a ground to connect and each headlight has connections for the bulbs and ballasts and a plug for the factory harness. Then there is the halos. Each halo has a power lead and ground. It sounds complicated, but each wire is labeled where the connection needs to go, so long as you take each wire one at a time it shouldn't be a problem.

Just to be clear. The only difference is the build quality. From what I've seen in Brian's headlights there is a slight difference but not much difference in the OEM.

I never opened them up before sending them to you so I never looked at them.

Projectors were installed in November. Had someone else do it. The passenger side reflector bucket broke during shipment and send it back to Keith to take a look at it. He said it was unrepairable. So, I bought another headlight and sent it to Keith to retrofit. I was driving around with one regular HID headlight and one Projector headlight. My Vibe kinda looked like the Borg...haha. Anyway, Keith took care of it at no charge. I (yes, ME) installed it last weekend and it works perfectly. My only issue is the driver's side halo is out, but I think it is just a wiring issue, so I 'll look at that this weekend. A HUGE Thanks goes to Keith for taking such good care of me. I'll get some pics as soon as I can find my car after our next blizzard this weekend.

Curious, is the black part of the headlight removable for painting? Was thinking of painting mine the color of the car.

One of the mounts cracked in shipment to me, but they will make a very nice set to retrofit.
