First time forum user (yes I'm a virgin) and looking for some feedbackI own a 2003 Vibe GT. We bought it recently and have received intermittent PO240 and one PO135. The car runs great, except somethings just come up. Three time in the past 5 days I go to start it, the panel lights come on, but the starter doesn't make a sound. Nothing.. No clicking, nothing. I wait a minute or two and it starts. In one instance, I rolled down the driveway and it started the old push start fashion (without the starter making a noise). This is my first Vibe (and its been a few years since I drove a manual, but after two-three days it was like riding a bike), but I'm thinking its a starter or starter solenoid. Before I go out and buy parts I thought I'd check out this forum and ask.thanks in advance to all

The codes tell you that your 1st O2 sensor is on it's way out and your catalytic converter might be as well. But that shouldn't have anything to do with the starter...Check the connections on the starter and the ground as well. sounds like something's loose. Welcome to GenVibe BTW!!!

Yes, check and clean all the connections you can. Also, have you checked the battery?

Thanks both for the reply , I'll check the connections, clean them off and tighten them down. We'll see what happens after that.

Could also be the clutch to start switch. Some of these you really need to mash the clutch pedal into the floor.

I get that every now and then when I lift up a little and nothing happens. If this things loose it could be a real nightmare digging around under the hood for a problem ON the pedal itself!!!
