Oooooooooooh, 40's!!!! why he's really OLD!!!!It scares me when "kids" (be they chronological children or mental children) drive quickly through a residential neighborhood. They haven't a clue exactly how fast a small child can suddenly spring into the road for no reason what so ever! Car doors open unexpectedly and people back out of driveways. If I ran the world, every residential neighborhood would have a road of speed bumps and pot holes big enough to swallow your car! That'll slow you down!!Doesn't matter what HE does, YOU, yeah, YOU....... SLOW DOWN!!!!! before you kill a child or seriously injure someone or something.Dave

There are just too many accidents these days, we as adults/drivers must be so very careful that we do not forget to remember the safety of everyone, including ourselves... not just on the road, but everywhere.Could you look into the eyes of a grieving mother and explain that you were just "drivin kinda fast" and unable to stop in time when you hit her child? Your driving is your responsibility, take control and stop being so petty.

It would be bad if you died in a fiery, bloody crash from from speeding, or worse yet killed someone else. Funny that the hypocrite is calling the hypocrite a hypocrite...lol...Just slow down!!!

When I was a kid my friends, brother, and I were playing on the strip of grass between the sidewalk and road (brother was actually on the street near the curb) when these guys came speeding really fast around the corner and down the street toward us. Our neighbor (an older man) was outside and saw these buffoons and threw a rock at their car while yelling to slow down. They screeched to a stop and they yelled back and forth then the guys took off. Anyways, I still remember that neighbor fondly for looking out for the neighborhood kids.Don't get mad at what everyone is saying here. Be man enough to know that you weren't making great choices speeding through a residential neighborhood and just slow down.

You really should be taking the time to evaluate the entire situation from all perspectives and then come to a conclusion. Hopefully the final answer will give you insight. On a side note, you create a thread about speeding in a neighbourhood, people here are going to give you some grief and no sympathy what so ever. Hopefully you have learned two valuable life lessons this week. The end results of speeding is not the best sometimes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...lated

A couple years ago my neighbor complained to the police about speeding in our 25 mpg hood. So they stepped up patrols. Guess who was the first one caught speeding?

Wow, you should be a bit more careful with your words. I'm guessing that you forgot who you were addressing when you mentioned that "some guy in his 40's" was yelling at you. There is a large portion of the members on this forum that have been driving for much longer than you have been alive. While he might speed through the neighborhood and now is mad at you for doing the same, I agree with the others that you too are being a hypocrite. You are 16. SLOW DOWN. If you by chance happened to hit my children, you wouldn't have much of a chance of a normal life. I sincerely hope that you won't have to face the parents of a child that you hit because you were driving like an idiot. So please, slow down and remember that you are not invincible nor are you the worlds most talented driver and accidents will happen, just make sure that you were doing EVERYTHING you possibly could to prevent an accident.

First off, I am in my late 20's, and people love their pets; dogs are far from being incompetent. Ever hear the expression "less said is best said?"

It's your attitude that bothers me. Speeding through neighborhoods is dangerous and irresponsible. If you want to be reckless with your own behavior, so be it. Don't put others in danger.

If you let your cat out or your dog run free and he or she gets flattened, you have no-one to blame but yourself!!!Weather this was in the middle of nowhere or not is besides the point...Quote, originally posted by keithvibe »I say hit Lift and honk... Sometimes they do... but it's fairly easy to prevent. But in the years I've my cats, great effort goes in to making sure that they never get out. As a kid when we had dogs, the fence was well maintained and they were always leashed when walked. Gates shut properly, in at night, ect... it's not that hard!I was 13 when that movie came out!!!

try going thru a friends neighborhood and having a guy throw a basketball at your car and putting a huge dent in it.. i had an axle-back straight because i wanted to know how it sounded and he thought i was going fast, i was going 26mph, in a 25 mph

You just gotta be careful regardless. ESPECIALLY in a residential neighborhood. Better safe then sorry. I'm 17, only a year older then you, and I've seen two kids get hit before because of people speeding. It's turned me into the cautious driver I am today. (not to say that I like to pop lift ever once in a while on the freeway/highway ;D )And is anyone else reading Keithvibe's comments?Quote, originally posted by keithvibe »I say hit Lift and honk...
