Has anyone added the phone controls found on toyota steering wheels to the vl up dow / mode on the vibe? that is upgraded the steering wheel controls to fuller featured controls?

I have actually been wondering if this would work myself for some time. I think that you can get the part pretty easy and it should just plug in, but since the Vibe radio is different then the Matrix radio the wiring may be different. Besides, since there is no bluetooth module you would need to find a way to add it in (or possibly the controls may work with a aftermarket headunit - not sure though)...

Was this available on the '09s and later in the Matrix, or just earlier? I've seen it online on the older model steering wheels but haven't seen a picture of a new one yet. Just curious, because if it could work with an aftermarket unit I'd rather have fully integrated wheel controls rather than a stick-on piece (looks and works cleaner)EDIT: Answered my own question. The tough part is going to be finding an aftermarket bluetooth that is compatible with our headunit... since I'm pretty sure the Matrix ones won't work... anyone know if any other GM cars share our headunit? I know the interface looks pretty similar to the Saturn ones but that's as far as I know.

cool, I had not seen the matrix steering wheel with controls - thats what I need. I am planning on using this with a AVIC-X920BT not the factory head. Thanks Ponta
