So after having my Vibe in Germany for 6 years, it has taken its final laps on the Nurburgring. I ship it back to the states next week and had an incredible time today giving it quite a workout on the track. I went with a couple of my other friends (1 with a '04 WRX and another with an '04 VW R32). We each did a few laps and got some video of the Vibe. The video is a bit long but I felt it entertaining. We also decided to time ourselves, my time being 10:44. The WRX got 9:23 and the R32 10:30 with a driver unfamiliar with the car. All in all, an awesome time getting to see $300,000 cars fly past me and checking out everyone else's cars there. It was also World Superbike weekend so there were hundreds if not thousands of bikes there. Without further ado, here is the video link. It's a little choppy the last minute since my camera stopped recording after 10 minutes and then had to piece the videos together. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QImAg2pXOos
Wow, Looks exhilarating especially the famed carousel. The rice rockets must do laps in the 7's. I was getting an erection just watching. lol. Not sure my Vibe base Pizza Car would appreciated being tossed around like that though.
Thanks for all the comments, it really was an awesome day. On a side note, my SSBC brakes held up much better and had absolutely no fade the entire time and they are still good right now. My friend showed me a website which takes pictures of cars going around the ring and tries to sell them to people and guess who got caught??http://www.nurburgringphotos.c...ate2=He also got me a large framed picture of one of them as my going away gift. You can see hundreds of other photos on there also if you're bored. My friend got his picture taken as well, just type BITAF in the license plate search box and you'll see his WRX.
I got it up to about 125-130 in some of the straightaways and through the carousel I had it at about 60 which was definately about the fastest that I should have gone through that.
