I think that is the same tire we put on our 2004 Vibe. Was a decent price and did the job.

Quote, originally posted by bwflorida »I bought four new Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring tires from one of the big chain stores (not a tire retailer). I won't mention their name, but I went there because their online sale price was less than $100 each, and the store "almost" matched it ($106). So I went ahead and bought them, knowing full-well their employees were probably not the most experienced installers. I reminded the salesmen to make sure they torque the lug nuts to factory specs rather than over-tighten with an impact wrench. Also, I did not know if the ComforTred Touring was directional, but I mentioned directional tires to the salesman, hoping he'd check it out to make sure.Anyway, after I got home, I was checking the tire pressures to make sure they didn't over- or under-inflate them . . . and Wouldn't-Ya-Know-It, right there on the sidewall in big capital letters it says MOUNT THIS SIDE OUT / MOUNT THIS SIDE IN. In spite of my reminder to the salesman and these obvious sidewall instructions, they put three of the four tires on the wrong way. When I went back and showed the salesman the sidewalls, he said it didn't matter which way they're installed, but I insisted that they re-mount them. Unfortunately, I don't have a torque wrench to check the lug nuts, but I'll bet $100 they're all over-tightened.Lesson Learned: Yes, I saved a few $$$, but I probably could have avoided that aggravation by going direct to Goodyear or to one of the big-name tire retailers.BTW, I LOVE these tires. They give our Vibe a quiet, stable ride, safer wet-weather traction and handling, and they have a 70,000 mile tread life warranty. So why are you not mentioning their name? They deserve the "publicity".

They mounted them the wrong direction? I'm hoping they remounted the tires the correct way. Please give us a name. Like jake75 said, they deserve the "publicity."

Sears, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, K-Mart, CarMax, even Firestone or Good~Year (and don't get me started on Good~Year, their Gemini or franchised Stores, or their so-called customer service either) might have made the very same mistake. It doesn't matter really. They are all corporately pushed VERY hard by the bean counters to produce numbers (sales) and reduce costs, economy and people's wallets or intelligence be damned. They don't hire people because of their knowledge or experience. They hire them because they can, and as cheaply as possible. As Old Tele Man said, idiots are everywhere these days, and it's getting worse in my opinion. The gene pool has been diluted way too much.

Are tires also designated as drivers side tires and passenger side tires? If not, then you got four identical tires, each labelled this side out/this side in. If you mount all four "correctly" (out side out) then the tread pattern is reversed from the driver's side to the passenger side. So really, does it matter?I seem to remember my definitely direction GoodYear TripleTreds having an indicator showing direction of forward rotation. Just saying "this side out" doesn't make it a directional tire.seems like the difference might only be cosmetic (designated Outside of tire might have a bigger goodyear logo or some such thing). So the shop should have made all the tires look the same, which is bad that they didn't, but it does not seem like they actually installed the tires so the tread would be backwards, because the tires do not appear to be directional.Unless there are other markings on the tires that have not yet been mentioned
