Hilariously loud horns for an Aveo?

I was talking to my mom today and the topic of horns came up. We talked about how absolutely hilarious it would be to install a truck-style horn (something that sounds huge) in her little Aveo hatchback.I'd love to do that for her birthday/Christmas (they're around the same time) if it's possible, she would think it was the most hilarious thing in the world to scare the pants off people- little suburban mom in the Aveo!!!! So how in the heck does that work- is it something I could do (or pay to have done)? Something that is hidden so you can't see it from the outside.

I would have a shop install that for you unless you have any mechanical knowledge....Check out this site...http://www.hornblasters.com/video.phpBwahahahaI have twin Hella horns in the Vibe (not train horns) they crank out about 118Db, where as stock is about 97db... I know the twin Hellas are a much loved mod for Toyota and Vibe owners.

The only problem with Train or similar horns is the air compressor needed can be very large. That and the price. There are a few posts of what people have done with vibes just search horns.

Yeah, I am planning on getting the Hella Horns for myself at some point (it could use a better horn). Not sure if I'd need the train horn for my mom, maybe more like a truck horn... but I'll keep looking. I don't mind spending a little bit of money on it because it would be a present.

Yeh - the Vibe has a really pathetic OEM horn. Arnold would probably call it "girlie".

Seems like small economy cars always seem to have a "wimpy" horn. Same with my Civic....

I have those. Best thing I ever did to the Vibe. It's hard to tell in the junkyard which ones have the Trumpet horns (that's what they called them, they were an option on almost all caddies from late '60s to late '90s) and which have the standard "parts bin" horns that were fitted to every other GM. I tried to figure out the RPO code to no avail.

In Ohio (and perhaps elsewhere) the lawmakers pass an enormous number of traffic laws, that if actually enforced, would enrage the populace to the point of revolt. One of those is "unnecessary use of horn". Things to know - NEVER honk your honk your horn at a police car. With our wimpy horns the chance of getting that ticket is substantially reduced.
